Tagaytay City –The 91 welcomed some 23 senior government executives to the Public Management Development Program (PMDP) on February 19, 2024. These individuals, representing 17 different agencies, who are ready to embark on a journey of leadership and service excellence comprise the 13th batch of the Senior Executives Class (SEC).

91President and CEO Majah-Leah Ravago set the stage for the event with a stirring call to action. “This program is not merely an educational endeavor; it is a beacon of hope for the enhancement of our public service landscape,” remarked Ravago as she emphasized the PMDP’s significance. She stressed the need for the scholars to use the opportunity to not only develop individual capacities but also to elevate the collective effectiveness of governmental agencies, aligning with the goals of the Philippine government.

Echoing Ravago’s sentiments, Enrique Gascon, Jr., president of SEC 12 Class, characterized the PMDP as a journey toward excellence in public service. Gascon urged his fellow scholars to anchor themselves with resilience, navigate with tenacity, and guide themselves with discernment, emphasizing the values of integrity, service, and innovation.

In response, Edwin Mendame, representing SEC 13, acknowledged the challenges that come with undertaking such a prestigious program. He emphasized the humility required for transformative growth and reaffirmed their commitment to the advancement of their agencies and the nation.

As the ceremony concluded, Dr. Marilette Almayda, officer-in-charge, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Curriculum and Teaching-Education Assessment and Alternative Education of  the Department of Education, shared words of wisdom drawn from her own experiences. Almayda highlighted the serendipitous nature of opportunity and urged the scholars to approach their journey with humility, resilience, and a steadfast dedication to service.
